It's kind of incredulous that February has already arrived, snow-less, brown and 10 degrees warmer than 2015's. But you know what? It can only mean that January was just that much fun. And with New York fashion week, a few weddings, and an impromptu trip to Los Angeles with Dani in April coming up, I really really can't wait for the rest of 2016 to come around. But you know, not so fast that I can't even remember how long January is supposed to be.

Anyway, meet Calgary's Hadiza Amedu-Ode, one of Mode Models' #NewYearNewFaces whom I had the absolute pleasure of dressing up in some of my favourite sustainable garb and photographing for New Classics Studios. Just about a week ago, I sent my go-to makeup artist, Carmen, an overly enthusiastic and fervent Facebook message about collaborating on a project that I had been keeping at the top of my imaginary to-do list titled "COOL SHIT". When she agreed to my crazy request, I was more than thrilled. I was ecstatic. "My dreams have finally come true," I thought. And boy, was I ever right.

Inspired by the creative genius that is FKA Twigs, we brought Mode Model's Charli Elber into the studio for a few hours to be transformed into a supa kawaii anime doll so all the senpais could notice her (ha ha ha...). Before I left for my 13-day trip to Asia, I had the opportunity to photograph one of Mode Model's veterans, Nic Neiman, for New Classics Studios. Having worked for brands like Saint Laurent and Nicholas K under Next Management, we were more than excited to have her hang out in our studio for a few hours and do her thang. Photographed the lovely Lauren Koehn for New Classics Studios with the usual squad yesterday. I've always wanted to shoot in a greenhouse, so when I learned of a not so secret greenhouse that lay somewhere in the maze that is the U of A's Biosci building, I knew my search for a location was over. Shout out to the cool folks over at Biosci for: a) giving me directions over and over again, and b) letting us photograph in Narnia.
